Created by trumpeter Bobby Medina following his acclaimed album Between Worlds, The Latin American Jazz Experience (LAJE) brings together world-class musicians to deliver every show with passion, precision, and flair.

From Brazil to Cuba, New York to New Orleans and beyond, LAJE draws from a rich blend of musical traditions to create a genre-defying celebration of sound. The show features fresh, reimagined renditions of iconic works by Latin American composers such as Argentina’s Astor Piazzolla, Brazil’s Luis Bonfá, and Mexico’s Rubén Fuentes—alongside Latin jazz classics and dynamic original compositions.

More than a concert, this immersive production includes multimedia visuals, state-of-the-art lighting, and engaging on-stage interactions, making it a powerful experience for audiences of all ages. LAJE has lit up festivals, jazz clubs, performing arts centers, and private events across North and South America and Europe.

About the band

Bobby Medina (USA/Mexico)

Originally from Los Angeles, trumpeter, bandleader and composer Bobby Medina has performed with many of the world’s legendary artists, including Ray Charles, Mel Tormé, The Four Tops, Frankie Valli the Funk Brothers and Four Tops to name just a few. As a composer, Bobby’s music has reached critical acclaim and he’s currently bringing his own brand of Latin influenced jazz to concert audiences across the world. Bobby has performed in more than 20 countries and in cities ranging from New York City to Tel Aviv, Buenos Aires to Tokyo. His electrifying performances are highly artistic as well as humorous and entertaining. Mr. Medina’s shows are always a celebration of musical culture and appeal to people of all ages and walks of life who love a great time!

Pablo Elorza (Argentina)

Electric Bass, Vocals and Arranger. From Villa María, Córdoba, Argentina, Pablo is an exciting bassist the defies categorization. His playing swings and grooves hard and he adds a funky flair to the Latin side of bass playing. He’s in high demand as a studio musician, arranger and bandleader and is the recent winner of the “Made in New York Jazz Competition” in the Composer Category. He’s also the author of educational bass books and video lessons series and has several albums out under his own name.

Willie Garza  (USA)

Hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area, Willie specializes in Afro-Latin percussion. His vast knowledge of global music traditions includes Cuban, Arabic, Flamenco, Brazilian, Pop, Jazz and vocal percussion. His distinctive style blends world music with contemporary influences, creating a sound that is both rooted and innovative.
 Willie brings dynamic energy and creativity to every performance and educational setting. His passion for cross-cultural music makes him a sought-after performer, collaborator, and educator.
As an active freelance musician and recording artist, Willie has contributed to a wide range of regional and international projects throughout his career, earning a reputation for both his artistry and versatility.

Conrad Medina (USA/Sweden/Mexico)

Saxophonist and producer Conrad Medina brings dynamic energy and magnetic stage presence to every performance. A lifelong musician deeply rooted in the music community, Conrad blends a wide spectrum of influences—from Latin and jazz to hip-hop and world music—into a signature sound that’s both authentic and innovative. In addition to leading his own band, Conrad has performed with legendary artists such as The Temptations and Wynonna Judd, to name just a few. His versatility shines in settings ranging from big bands and jazz combos to Latin ensembles and pop groups. Whether on stage or in the studio, Conrad’s music reflects the richness of his cultural heritage and a deep passion for connecting through sound.

Santiago Hernández (Argentina)

Drumset and Percussion. Born and raised in Buenos Aires Santiago received a “World Tour” scholarship from Berklee College of Music where he studied drums, percussion and composition with such well know musicians as Terry Lyne Carrington (drummer Herbie Hancock), Kenwood Dennard (Jaco Pastorius and drummer Miles Davis among others) and Jammey Haddad. His thrilling drum style is frequently called on to back numerous groups in Argentina where he’s also a top call studio drummer. His recent first solo album “Plotting Something” was recorded with renowned musicians from Argentina and centers around Latin American and African rhythms with harmonies of contemporary jazz and a high degree of improvisation.

Gabe Hall-Rodrigues (USA/Brasil)

Infusing the music of the LAJE with an unmistakable Brasilian charm, this dynamic pianist, accordionist, vocalist, and composer captivates audiences everywhere. His musical journey includes collaborations with luminaries including Brazilian guitar master Wallace Seixas, tubist Sam Pilafian, accordionist Frank Morroco, Seattle’s premier Brazilian forró band Foleada and the esteemed Seattle Philharmonic. Additionally, in 2019, he distinguished himself by winning 2nd place in the International Open category at The Trophee Mondial, the world’s largest accordion competition held in Loule, Portugal. Gabe is a Petosa and Harmonik instrument artist.
